FAQs

What happens during my first visit?

You will meet your main practitioner who will go through a detailed consultation with you to find out about your health and wellbeing. This will happen in our private consultation room.  You will then receive your treatment in our main clinic room.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

Please wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing. Eat a light snack or small meal before your treatment and refrain from alcohol.

How will I feel after my treatment?

Most people feel very relaxed after treatment. Some may feel quite tired, especially after the first treatment. If you come by car, please be aware you may need to take some time before you can drive off again.

Will I be treated by the same practitioner?

You may not necessarily see the same practitioner on each visit, but you will have one main practitioner who will think with you about your treatment plan.

How many treatments will I need?

If you come with an acute condition or injury, you may need several sessions a week to clear it more quickly. If you present with a chronic condition, you generally will need more sessions over a longer period of time. For general health and wellbeing you may need a few sessions initially and then have a ‘top-up’ several times a year to keep you in good shape. We will discuss your treatment plan with you during your first visit.

Can I use acupuncture as a preventative measure?

Absolutely. You don’t have to be ill to come for treatment. Acupuncture is an excellent preventative healthcare measure.

Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy?

Acupuncture is great during pregnancy. Please inform your practitioner if you are pregnant or if you are trying for a baby.
